Origins: The undisKovered Trio traces its origins back to 2003, when it was originally formed by Carol Portillo in Austin, Texas. Initially, the band was a 5-piece band known as the undisKovered band, performing original and cover music throughout Austin from 2003 to 2006. Band members included: Evan, John, Mike, Mickey, and Carol. In 2006, the band underwent a transformation and was reformed in Albuquerque, New Mexico with new members Ted, Bill, Gene, Joe, and Carol. During their time in Albuquerque, the band performed from 2006 to 2010, touring the casinos and festival circuit across the state opening for bands such as Molly Hatchet and Steppenwolf.
Austin Calling: Destiny led them back to their roots in Austin, Texas, where the band experienced a musical revival. The band was "redisKovered" and reunited in 2012 with the original band members adding Hector. Their eclectic repertoire included genres such as Motown, Classic Rock, R&B, Latin, Country, and Blues.
Pandemic: As we all moved to a virtual world, the music scene followed. Unfortunately, the pandemic impacted the undisKovered band as they ceased playing music during the pandemic and the years that followed.
Trio: In 2024, three band members, Mike, Hector, and Carol decided to build upon the band's past successes albeit on a smaller, more intimate scale. They formed The undisKovered Trio with the collective experience of the three members and their musical direction and influences took shape. Their unique blend of English and Spanish elements with songs from the past and present, promises a musical journey for everyone.
